Joe Rogan is not another Aleister Crowley, or is he?

Greetings, dear Soul! Tuesday the 8th is called Manifesting Monkey, and this means we step down onto the Tenth Tonal, which engages the Heart Chakra, and is represented by two hands, those two Bars. Each Bar is worth five fingers, and therefore represents one hand, and the Maya show these two in the vertical position a lot, like two hands praying, and also in the horizontal, like to people shaking hands. The word Manifesting refers to this quality of making deals, and jumping in with both hands.
The Monkey is the most creative Nagual of the bunch. The artist. The dancer. The poet. The musician. The seamstress, especially if she makes her own designs. The Weaver of Time. These K’ een can’t NOT perform. Their Inner Child and their Trickster in engaged at all times (if they are being true to their Core Self instincts, that is). Please read all the wordy num-nums.
Our Exemplars are quite the foursome. Don’t you think it’s outrageously cool that Barbara Brennan’s book, “Hands of Light” shows two hands (of light) on the cover, which is Blue? Then we’ve got one of the calmest Monkey’s on the block, even though he performed constantly, bringing the good word of Zen Buddhist meditation to the West.
Our two characters on the bottom are more on the Yang side of Monkey Manifestation, you must agree. Aleister Crowley was an English occultist, ceremonial magician, poet, novelist, mountaineer, and painter. He founded the religion of Thelema, identifying himself as the prophet entrusted with guiding humanity into the Æon of Horus in the early 20th century. “Do what thy wilt”, is the whole of the law.
Crowley’s got some very dark exploitations and explorations in his life. A bisexual man into Sado Masochism and “Sex Magic”, he was a high ranking initiate in many occult groups, where same-sex rituals were enforced, and the drinking of blood of sacrificed animals, and members even being forced to cut themselves with razor blades on their arms if they referred to themselves with the first person pronoun “I”.
Not surprisingly, he did a lot of drugs. Crowley made a study of drugs and their effects upon the body and mind, experimenting widely on himself. Many of his conclusions are present within his first actual published book, “Diary of a Drug Fiend.” He had a very long term on-again, off-again heroin addiction, and died a penniless junkie at age 72, basically the exact opposite of Barbara Brennan and D. T. Suzuki.
And what of Joe Rogan? Somewhere in between? You decide: Joe Rogan, known for his podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience," has been described as part of the "intellectual dark web" and has gained attention for his controversial opinions and media channels. An enormous percentage of his guests (and listeners) are white men, and he’s been known to drop racist bombs along with controvercial opinions a-plenty. Interestingly, he adopts a practice called “Sober October” where he and his co-producers and friends have a drug-and alcohol free October, promoting working out instead. And then he and Elon Musk (Manifesting Starseed) smoked weed on his YouTube podcast of their first meeting. Yay! But, they were also chugging whiskey. Boo! Additionally, Joe also supports the use of LSD, psilocybin mushrooms, and DMT toward the exploration and enhancement of consciousness, as well as introspection. He was the presenter in the 2010 documentary “DMT: The Spirit Molecule”, based on the research of Dr. Rick Strassman (Pairing Starseed).
So, is Joe the combo of the other three? Well, as you may know, his hands were used to smash the fuck out of people as an amateur kick-boxer trained in Taekwondo, and Brazilian Jujitsu. He is an avid supporter of, and announcer for more than 2500 UFC fights, so, no, he’s the exact opposite of Barbara Brennan. He seems rather chill most of the time in his podcasts, kinda like Suzuki Sensei, but let’s get real, it’s drug and alcohol induced.
What about the Crowley connection? Well, Joe is an extreme heterosexual, and has even suggested that the increased visibility and acceptance of transgender people is a sign of a collapse of civilization. But there are other similarities… I don’t feel Joe has a negative intent to control thru dark magic, however he does provide a platform for the far right of Toxic Masculinity to voice their opinions (which he rarely disagrees with) to 20 million people+ per podcast.
When he mirrors the opinions of his guests about men needing to be more masculine and dominating, millions of white male toxic masculine viewers latch onto these ideas, and spew them out into the world ad nauseum. Boo.
However, I still gotta put Joe far more on the Light side than the forces of the Dark, and I hope he keeps moving towards his Divine Feminine Future Vision Guide of Empowering Rainstorm.
