Activate your Inner Obsidian Mirror and Outer Knife

Greetings, dear Soul! Saturday the 8th is K’ een 198, Activating Obsidian Mirror/Knife, a day when movement meets precision, and the flowing current of life encounters the razor edge of Universal Truth. Tone 3 wants us moving, communicating, creating and engaging with one another, with a stong feminine feel. This Nagual, Etznab, has duality built in: Mirror : Knife, as you can see from the truly unique Glyph, mirroring two pyramids (or is it four?). Here’s all the Codes:

Etznab asks that all this activity have purpose: to cut through illusion, sever what no longer serves us, and expose the Divine Spark hidden beneath our stories.

Activating energy is alive, social and kinetic. It gets us off the couch and into the stream of life, where ideas are exchanged, relationships are energized and possibilities begin taking form. Tone 3 carries the warmth of the Three Hearthstones: the sacred center where nourishment, family and community gather.

Through Communication, Humor and Flow, we keep energy moving instead of allowing it to stagnate. Orion reminds us that our earthly Movement exists within a far greater celestial dance, while Femininity and the Divine Trinity invite us to nurture creation rather than force it.

Obsidian Mirror/Knife brings extraordinary clarity to that Movement. Etznab is Sharp, Focused, Astute and Precise. Like polished obsidian reflecting the face of whoever stands before it, today offers opportunities to see ourselves without distortion. The Knife can perform Cord Cutting, separating us from habits, relationships and beliefs whose time has passed. Yet this is not a weapon of cruelty. At its highest expression, Etznab combines Universal Truth with Mercy. Its Precision becomes Healing; its Eloquence communicates what needs to be said without unnecessary injury; its Non-Attachment allows us to release what we once believed we could never live without.

The Shadow Ego appears when all that Activating energy loses its center. Triangulation replaces direct Communication. Low Self-Esteem makes us forget the Divine Spark within. We may become Lazy, refusing the Movement life requires, or Hyperactive, scattering ourselves in every direction. Etznab’s sharpness can then turn outward: Double-Crossing instead of honesty, Lashing Out instead of Mercy, and Judging instead of using the Mirror to examine ourselves.

Keanu Reeves as Activating Mirror/Knife embodies an intriguing combination of Movement, Focus, Precision, Self-Sacrifice and Mercy. His lifelong fascination with motorcycles eventually became ARCH Motorcycle, which he co-founded with Gard Hollinger, transforming a personal passion into a working collaboration based on craftsmanship and extraordinary Precision.

Even while occupying one of Hollywood’s most visible positions, Reeves has quietly supported cancer research and children’s hospitals, reportedly preferring not to attach his own name to the work. That blend of action without constant self-promotion has a distinctly Etznab quality: doing what needs to be done, then stepping away from the Mirror rather than demanding that everyone look at him.

Behind that calm exterior, Keanu’s Shadow Ego has experienced devastating cuts. His daughter with Jennifer Syme was stillborn in 1999, and Syme died in a car crash in 2001; he also lost his close friend River Phoenix at a young age. Reeves has spoken of grief not as something simply conquered but as something that changes shape. These experiences give the Etznab themes of Cord Cutting, Non-Attachment and Healing a much less romantic meaning: sometimes life makes the cut for us, and there is no choice about what is taken away. His challenge has seemingly been not to let those wounds turn into bitterness, isolation or Lashing Out, but to continue moving through life while carrying them.

Few modern speakers embodied Etznab’s Eloquence, Astuteness, Prophecy and Sharpness quite like Busy, Busy, Busy, Activating Mirror/Knife Terence McKenna. He could slice into conventional assumptions about consciousness, culture, psychedelics, technology and human history with dazzling verbal Precision. His lectures moved at astonishing speed, connecting shamanism, biology, linguistics, alchemy and the future of humanity into enormous patterns. Whether one accepted all his conclusions or not, McKenna excelled at turning the Obsidian Mirror toward Western civilization and asking whether its accepted version of reality was really as complete as it claimed. Yet the prophetic Knife of his Shadow Ego could cut both ways. McKenna’s Timewave Zero theory eventually became associated with a predicted culmination of historical novelty on December 21, 2012. That date came and went without the transformative endpoint the model anticipated, and even sympathetic investigators of the theory have concluded that its proposed zero dates failed. (A few other people were pissed that the world didn’t either blow up or shift into Heaven on Earth that day, too. A few.) This provides a beautiful Shadow lesson around Judging and Precision: a brilliant intellect can discern patterns everywhere and still mistake an elegant pattern for Universal Truth. Etznab asks us to sharpen our theories relentlessly — and to be willing to cut away even our favorite ideas when reality does not confirm them.

Poet and spiritual teacher, Mark Nepo expresses Activating Obsidian Mirror/Knife through Healing, Meditation, Eloquence, Mercy and Universal Truth. After surviving two bouts of cancer, Nepo devoted much of his writing to what suffering strips away and what remains when our usual defenses collapse. The Book of Awakening eventually reached more than a million readers, while his broader body of work explores listening, relationship, grief, inner transformation and the difficult practice of remaining present. His tool is language, but his best language behaves like an obsidian blade: carefully chosen words cutting through abstraction to something immediately human.

Nepo’s Shadow Ego had its own transformation from a frightening confrontation with mortality. He has described discovering a lump but not having it examined until a friend urged him to seek medical attention; what followed was years of illness and aggressive treatment. That story exposes one of today’s Shadow tensions: even an insightful person can hesitate before facing the Mirror. The eventual confrontation demanded the opposite of avoidance — sustained Focus on what was actually happening. Nepo’s later teachings repeatedly return to the ways fear and pain can make human beings close down, hide and become numb. His medicine has been learning to meet those moments rather than turning away from them.

Dr. Joe Vitale is pure Activating Mirror/Knife energy. After experiencing homelessness and extreme poverty, he built an extraordinarily prolific career encompassing books, speaking, marketing, coaching, films, music and spiritual teaching. His work repeatedly focuses on removing limiting beliefs, setting intentions and turning inner transformation into external Movement. From The Attractor Factor to Zero Limits, Vitale’s central message has consistently been that changing one’s inner Focus can radically alter one’s relationship with possibility. Whatever one thinks of the Law of Attraction, his personal transition from homelessness to bestselling authorship undeniably demonstrates perseverance, Communication and a powerful ability to keep energy moving.

The Shadow Ego side of such immense productivity isTone 3’s Hyperactive extreme. Vitale has produced an enormous stream of books, recordings, films, courses, coaching systems and other projects, and his teachings sometimes present the Law of Attraction with the certainty implied by the word “law.” Vitale himself has publicly defended that terminology when questioned about whether attraction truly operates like a natural law. And he did not invent that term, just capitalized on it.

He also took the Hawai’ian Ho-Opono-Pono teaching and made millions off it, which is also a little bit inauthentic, one might say, despite the healing effect that Forgiveness has on all humanity. There’s even a secion on his “joevitalehooponopono.com” site about how to attract money with it… This is some kind of hyperactivity triangulation hocus pocus, if you ask me.

Now let’s look at their Guides:

Harmonizing Dog immediately brings the Freedom Fighter vibe of Tone 8 to the protection and guardianship of Dog. Sure, there’s Dog’s Love and Loyalty, but there’s also Laws and Rules and Politics, and Tone 8 also has a lawyer energy building specific foundations.

Patient Seed is yet another gender blender in the Yin energy, as all Tone 3 K’ een as their Core Self have Tone 9 in the Divine Feminine position, greatly adding to the overal femininity of Tone 3. And today we have the very masculine Seed here, sexy, spreader and gatherer of information. Our Exemplars are not the quietly sit alone types.

And when the get out there and do their thing, its with Manifesting Traveler (Dr. Joe-V would be thrilled) which uses the two hands to make deals, co-create, and even hold hands with best friends, while Traveler is the happy camper, the story teller, on the way to Self Actualization.

The tricky thing about Tone 3 K’ een is Tone 11 as their Future Vision Guide. If they are not centered, focused, and have dealt with their traumas, their mid-to-late adulthood can be very messy. And for all Mirror/Knife K’ een, they have Death and Rebirth here. Likewise, if a Mirror/Blade person hasn’t got their shit together, after age 52, things are likely to go downhill fast.

But if they’ve done the walk-the-walk talk, then they are proudly standing on their double-stacked Rolla Bolla and gliding easily thru all transitions. Dr. Joe-V comes to mind again, and Keanu…

As for you and me today, the obsidian blade is already in our hands. We can swing it wildly, cutting people apart through judgment and reaction, or hold it with the steady hand of the healer. We can use the Mirror to hunt for flaws in everyone around us, or turn its polished surface toward our own face and ask what is ready to be seen.

So move carefully today. Speak. Laugh. Create in the kitchen. Tend the hearth. Follow the current. But carry the Knife consciously.

Cut the cord, not the heart. Cut the illusion, not the person.

And beneath whatever falls away, look for the tiny, indestructible Divine Spark that no blade can ever divide. Because any cord cutting we do here on the 3D earth plane is also only an illusion. Shhhhhhh.
